Join Brooke Margherone and Ann Campbell Hays for 75-minutes of Yin Yoga plus Reiki.
Yin Yoga consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body - the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in dense connective tissues (tendons, ligaments, fascia). The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer, to stimulate and remove blockages in the myofascial meridians, or energy lines, in the body. This has the effect of balancing the body’s internal organs and systems.
Reiki is a Japanese energy modality in which the practitioner lays his or her hands on, or above, areas of the body to aid in healing. Reiki was discovered by Mikao Usui, a scholar from Kyoto, Japan in the 1920s. It was passed down to Chujiro Hayashi, a medical doctor, who trained Hawayo Takata, the Japanese-American woman who introduced Reiki to the United States. Ann has studies with a Reiki master and has been attuned to the universal energy. Reiki can heal on a physical, mental, and spiritual level. It can help with physical pain, insomnia, depression, and much, much more.
Yoga and Reiki can be used in conjunction with one another to experience ultimate transformation. Yoga can be likened to peeling away the layers of an onion. As each layer sheds, more and more unravels about the self. It is between these sensitive layers where the application of energy work such as Reiki can have a life-changing response. Once one is completely open to receiving, Reiki will go to the area of the body, mind, or spirit, where it is most needed.
