Beach yoga will take place EVERY SATURDAY AND SUNDAY throughout summer! We will meet at the studio (219 Main St. Saint Joseph, MI) to sign in and register and then walk down to the beach together at the class start time. 

Drop-in rates ($15) apply or class passes/memberships can be used. There are no mat rentals available for beach classes.

Feel free to bring your mats to practice on, but towels can work just as well. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and water are good to have since we walk all the way down to the water's edge. All-levels are welcome to join us for this amazing opportunity to practice on the beach!

In eastern philosophy the number 108 is considered a number that represents a complete cycle and is the ultimate end of an event or phenomenon. So, for this reason it is common to do 108 rounds of something meaningful to you on auspicious occasions.

As a community, we will practice 108 Sun Salutations to honor this powerful ritual and tradition. We practice this repetition with focus and intention. Just as any repetitive task in life can lead us to boredom and restlessness, we can learn how to come back to our intention and physically work mindfully and smarter, rather than harder, which are all great lessons for ourselves as we move into the heat of Summer. We will finish with a brief meditation letting the lessons we learn on our mat this day resonate within us.

You don't have to practice all 108 Sun Salutations, your presence is enough. All- Levels welcome :) All class passes accepted or drop-ins welcome!

Join Brooke Margherone for an experience unlike any other. During Yoga Nidra, or Yogic Sleep, you will be guided into a hypnagogic state of consciousness where you are between waking and sleeping.

 It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world. Once the body is relaxed, the inner world that is experienced can be explored by traveling through and penetrating the Pancha Maya Koshas, or 5 layers of our being.

"While Yoga Nidra is not a substitute for actual sleep, one hour of Yoga Nidra practice is equivalent to four hours of sleep.  This is due to the series of brain waves experienced along the way. With practice, you’ll eventually be able to enter the delta brainwave state but remain aware.  It resembles what it feels like to be on the verge of being awake and asleep. The conscious experience of deep sleep is what makes it so restorative and unique." (Saraswati 1998, Kumar 2008)

 This class is suitable for all abilities and anyone wanting to feel present, relaxed, and rejuvenated. All class passes can be used or drop-in rates apply. Wear comfortable clothing that is warm and cozy. This class follows Yin Yoga (12:15pm-1:30pm) so feel free to attend both!

During these 4 weeks, Kelly will guide mothers through a slow, calming, gentle practice that focuses on strength and openness. Using traditional yoga postures, props, pelvic floor exercise, and breathing techniques you will release tension, unwind, and prepare for the arrival of your baby or work to heal and recuperate after giving birth. Kelly will emphasize the importance of modifying the postures you practiced before pregnancy so that you can safely continue your practice and attend other classes as well during this series. Classes are recommended together but can be taken separately. Reiki I certification is a pre-requisite to Reiki II.

In this Weekend Certification Workshop, you will learn the original Usui Reiki system, taught by Heather Fox Reiki Master Teacher. 

Reiki is the Japanese word for “Universal Life Energy.” This energy is all around us and we can channel it. It flows through the hands of the trained practitioner to accelerates the body’s natural healing process.

Reiki was discovered by Mikao Usui, a scholar from Kyoto, Japan in the 1920s. It was passed down to Chujiro Hayashi, a medical doctor, who trained Hawayo Takata, the Japanese-American woman who introduced Reiki to the United States. 

In this two-day class you will learn:

  • The history of Reiki and science behind Reiki level I

  • How to confidently deliver effective Reiki treatments for yourself, family, friends, and pets.

  • How to bring healing comfort and calm to any condition, - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual

  • How to treat acute and chronic health conditions

If arm balancing postures feel inaccessible or even scare you, THIS workshop is the one for you!

 In this workshop, we will take a different perspective of each posture to gain insight of ourselves and remove the element of fear or inaccessibility. We will methodically develop strength, focal points, and free you from the fear of falling, so you can begin practicing arm balances or even strengthen your existing practice. 

 First, the balance is removed and the focus and muscle engagement needed for each pose is found in various modifications. From there, the balance is introduced slowly with stability. Then, if you choose to move on, we will practice the full posture. At each step offered, there is a place to stop and work at your level of comfort and ability.

 All levels are welcome and encouraged to face your fears and take flight!

Join Jean in learning safe and effective techniques for opening up tense areas, scar tissue and increasing blood flow to the upper body. Through her myofascial release (MFR) techniques paired with yoga asanas (postures), you'll experience improved energy flow, balance in body and mind, and overall alignment.

This class will demonstrate safe, easy and inexpensive self myofascial release methods to recover and renew your upper body soft tissue. We will practice pinpoint muscle knot relief and massage the denser tissues of the body. Yoga asanas will follow the specific sites of release we will focus upon so you can learn how to achieve deeper and more productive results.  In addition to the provided tools, please bring tools you already own such as foam rollers, massage balls, tennis balls and pressure point canes.

The first series of Ashtanga Yoga is known as Yoga Chikitsa, or Yoga therapy because it purifies and heals the body from the inside out. This healing process begins with a set sequence of postures uniquely selected to increase flexibility, align your spine and help you build endurance and strength. The postures in Primary Series are familiar for most yoga students, but the way they are organized and executed can become the challenge. When the body faces this challenge, the breath becomes fuller, the mind becomes steady, and you’ll feel a deep sense of peace and physical lightness.

In this workshop we will explore the most traditional and authentic form of Yoga that originally came to the West. Every branch of the Ashtanga Yoga method will be dissected and an explanation on how to incorporate yoga it in to your daily life, as well as how to develop your own disciplined, daily practice.

Adding breath work (pranayama) and sound vibrations (chanting) into your practice brings balance and joy to replenish the body and mind while accessing spirit! These are two techniques used to access the energetic body and higher energy centers that don't always get involved through our asana practice. We will complete each class with a short meditation allowing everything to settle and still. You will feel leave balanced and invigorated!

During these 5 weeks, Michelle will guide expectant mothers through a calming, gentle practice that focuses on strength and openness. Using traditional yoga postures, props, and breathing techniques you will release tension, unwind, and prepare for a restful night's sleep!

This series is designed for all stages of pregnancy.
No yoga experience is necessary.

Join Yoga Life Studio, Manduka, and The Susan G. Komen Foundation over Mother's Day weekend for this special Project OM (One Million) Donation based all-level Vinyasa Yoga class.

This is The Yoga Class of One Million To Battle Breast Cancer. Let's all come together!

When it comes to the battle against breast cancer, Susan G. Komen® has funded more breast cancer research than any other non-profit outside of the federal government while providing real-time help to those fighting the disease. Inspired by this legacy, project:OM is thrilled to host the world's largest yoga class of one million bodies strong to benefit Susan G. Komen®.

Susan G. Komen’s Bold Goal is to reduce the current number of breast cancer deaths by 50% in the U.S. by 2026. Together, with your help, we can make an impact and help Susan G. Komen® move one step closer to achieving that goal.... on and off the mat.

Minimum donation is $15 to participate in class.

Our door will be open all day during classes. Feel free to come and take a few classes, grab some healthy snacks, FREE chair massage, meet other yogis, and buy some yoga gear or essential oils!
