The first series of Ashtanga Yoga is known as Yoga Chikitsa, or Yoga therapy because it purifies and heals the body from the inside out. This healing process begins with a set sequence of postures uniquely selected to increase flexibility, align your spine and help you build endurance and strength. The postures in Primary Series are familiar for most yoga students, but the way they are organized and executed can become the challenge. When the body faces this challenge, the breath becomes fuller, the mind becomes steady, and you’ll feel a deep sense of peace and physical lightness.
In this workshop we will explore the most traditional and authentic form of Yoga that originally came to the West. Every branch of the Ashtanga Yoga method will be dissected and an explanation on how to incorporate yoga it in to your daily life, as well as how to develop your own disciplined, daily practice.
